Children in SouthPark attend the second largest district in the state of North Carolina, the Charlotte Mecklenburg School District. Two high schools for SouthPark residents are Myers Park High School and South Mecklenburg High School. Both schools have test score averages and four-year graduation rates that are higher than the state average. In addition to strong academics, the high schools have dominating sports teams.

Myers Park has achieved state championships in lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and basketball while South Mecklenburg has obtained championship titles in baseball, swimming, and football in addition to being named the 21st best high school in NC.

There are many amenities nearby for SouthPark residents and families to enjoy. Park Road Park is a 72-acre property featuring tennis courts, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, baseball fields, softball fields, volleyball courts, picnic shelters, concession stands, walking trails, and an 11-acre lake with a pier. In 2014, over 500 students and community members gathered for the dedication of the park’s playground.
