NoDa is a North Carolina neighborhood that is known for its art, vibrant personality, entertainment and great homes. This is a very tight-knit community with many nearby amenities and attractions just a short walk or drive away including some of Charlotte's best restaurants. It is located 2 miles north of Uptown and it is bordered by Villa Heights, Plaza-Shamrock, Sugar Creek, and Tryon Hills.

Students in NoDa are assigned to the Charlotte Mecklenburg School District. This neighborhood is zoned for Highland Renaissance Academy, Martin Luther King Middle School, and Garinger High School. The roots of Garinger High date back to 1909, making it one of the oldest schools in Charlotte. Notable alumni from Garinger include NFL players, politicians, journalists, and singers. There are also several private and charter schools in the area, such as the Sugar Creek Charter School, Charlotte Choice Charter School, and Hickory Grove Christian School.

Parks And Recreation Near NoDa

There are 3 public parks in the NoDa neighborhood. Clemson Avenue Park is a place for the local children to play basketball and the Charles Avenue Park includes an entertaining hopscotch area. The North Charlotte Park is a 3-acre property featuring a basketball court, multipurpose field, picnic shelter, playground, and walking trail.

On a rainy day, the neighborhood YMCA is an excellent facility for friends and family to gather. The Johnston YMCA offers the community a gymnasium, indoor pool, sauna, personal training programs, cycle studio, yoga/pilates studio, childcare, playground, indoor chapel, locker rooms, and 2 fitness facilities filled with exercise equipment. The Charlotte Country Club is a popular destination for athletes in the area and is known as one of the top ten private clubs in the nation.
