The debate team is nationally recognized for their success and is one of the best teams in North Carolina. Myers Park athletic teams have also achieved state championship titles in tennis, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse. The Queens University of Charlotte is also located in Myers Park.

Freedom Park is a beautifully maintained 98-acre public park. The park features 4 baseball fields, 12 tennis courts, 4 soccer fields, 2 volleyball courts, 2 playgrounds, 5 outdoor shelters, walking trails, batting cages, a basketball court and a bandshell. One of the most popular attractions at the park is an NFL Play 60 Kidzone set up by the Carolina Panthers football team.
