Raising A Family In Kannapolis

This community plans several entertaining events throughout the year for its residents. During the warmer months, you can head to Village Park to watch a movie under the stars or listen to the summer concert series lineup. To grab some fresh produce, you can check out the farmers market downtown every weekend. For a day of music, relaxing and delicious food, you can join the community at Veterans Park for Thursdays on Main Lunches under the oak trees. Kannapolis also prides itself on being a very healthy community. Throughout the year, several 5k events are planned under their Run Kannapolis program. Proceeds from each event are given to non-profits in the community.  Loop the Loop is a beneficial way for residents to track the distance of their walks, runs, or bike rides which stems from the city's Discover a Healthy Life Initiative. Several trails and routes cover the city with distances being differentiated by various colors. Each participant has a goal of completing at least 150 miles a year. At the end of each quarter, those who are on track are put in a drawing to win prizes!

Kannapolis is the hometown of racing legend Dale Earnhardt Jr.! Fans can take a drive down the Dale Trail, a self-guided tour showcasing his racing history with the city. You can also make a stop at Stewart-Haas Racing to see NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart’s racing headquarters and race shop. Other Kannapolis attractions include the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, The Curb Museum for Motorsports, The Golf Club at Irish Creek, and the Kannapolis Intimidators minor-league baseball team.
